#Create folders in opera mail upgrade
I just did a major system upgrade and Mail ended up acting up (getting the database to transition from 10.8 to 10.13 without causing CTD on launch was a pain) which motivated me to look through all the various alternatives I could find once again, helped by the fact that via various bundles and the like I actually own licenses for basically every single one of them. I have yet to find another client that handles mailing lists half as elegantly. I approve of your sticking with Opera! Its lack of network-synched contacts meant the end for me, sadly, otherwise I'd probably still be using it. Which seems to be a rare trait in the world of electron everywhere.
Meaning it can handle multiple emails open at once in a civilised way.Ībove all, it is stylistically simple while achieving good density of information. Want to reply to an email, no worries, it does that in another tab. Since it is essentially a fork of the old Presto based opera, it also does everything using tabs. If I reply to an email, it automatically uses the one that the original email was sent to. As such I only ever have one place to check. Opera Mail can also combine all my inboxes across all email addresses into a single inbox. This also means that if something is marked as read on any other device or client, it leaves the unread filter in Opera Mail. So as soon as you tick that you have read some mail, it disappears from the unread list automatically. Then all Unread mail is kept in a "folder" (not an actual folder, more like a filter). Meaning no emails get lost because I forgot to click the "mark as unread" button.
However, no mail is ever marked as read, until you click the tick button that marks it as read. Mail that hasn't been looked at is given blue heading text, once you have looked at it, the heading goes black. Opera Mail uses an almost 2 tiered system for read/unread mail. I use "mark as read" only once I have completed any tasks related to the email. But I haven't found anything quite as nice to use.
